Istanbul: Hagia Sophia

Istanbul: Hagia Sophia

The Hagia Sophia was built in 537 as a Greek Orthodox Church. The Ottomans converted it to a mosque and when modern day, secular Turkey was created, it was opened as a museum.  Today is used as a mosque and stands as cultural icon of Istanbul, Turkey.
